We’re at the point of the season when things start to wind down ever so slightly, but the yearlings will shortly begin getting ridden and we have purchased plenty of future superstars' form Tattersalls this week!
There is still a fair amount to look forward too, however, including Rosallion, who is on target for the QEII at Ascot on Champions’ Day. It looks like we aren’t going to get any rain between now and then, which is obviously very much in our favour, and I’m incredibly happy with him.
Sean has been in and ridden work and everything is going nicely. He’s had a hard season but has been unlucky on so many occasions and really deserves to win another big one.
It looks likely to be a very good race but I’m pleased with Rosallion and I’m looking forward to what should be a fascinating clash.
Witch Hunter, who returned to winning ways at Newcastle last time, has come out of that race in great shape and will head back to Ascot for a crack at the Balmoral Handicap on the same day. Aramram and Angel Hunter are in cracking form and will have a run or two before the end of the year.
Nightime Dancer got a little nick on the back of his hock after Newbury which has meant we are going to draw stumps on him for the season but he’ll be back next year and I’m hopeful he’ll develop into a smart stayer. Haatem had a small setback and was sent to Newmarket to recover, but he’ll be back with us around Christmas time to start training ahead of the 2026 season.

Night Patrol (Alec Voikhansky)
I’d love to say I knew he’d win at Newbury last time, but that is obviously not the case as he went off at 125/1 and I didn’t have a penny on! But he was given a great ride from the front and the others just couldn’t get to him – it was just like Qirat in the Sussex Stakes, only this time we were the beneficiaries!
He’s come out of that race in good form and steps into Nursery Company for the first time off a mark of 82 with Alec taking a valuable 3lbs off his back.
The step back up to a mile won’t be an issue and he’s an improving colt.

Circe (Jamie Spencer)
She’s a very tough and consistent filly who always tries her best and is a course and distance winner, albeit off a much lower mark. She handles any ground and I was delighted with her effort in the G3 at Doncaster last time.
The drop back to six furlongs is a plus and she still looks good in her coat, which is a positive at this time of the year.

Shetakesthegold (Joe Leavy)
She’s generally a consistent filly but I feel the cheekpieces might just eek out a little bit more improvement and the Handicapper has dropped her a couple of pounds.
This isn’t a great race and I’ll be disappointed if she’s not capable of living up to her name!
Hello Isla (Tom Greatrex)
She has lots of pace and should be up to winning a race or two. This is a step down in grade so there aren’t really any excuses and hopefully she’ll show up well.

Schemaya (Joe Leavy)
I don’t think she benefited from the tape start at Salisbury last time, on her first run over 1m6f, but I think staying trips will be her optimum and this is an easier race. She’s not without hope.
