SUCCESSFUL EASTER WEEKEND

Mon 02 April 2018

A great effort by the team all round saw Richard Hannon have a treble at Kempton on Saturday all ridden by different jockeys. The first of those came under Tom Marquand with the Al Shaqab owned three year old QAYSAR winning easily in the seven furlong novice event. He was never far away from them before staying on strongly up to the line and won with plenty in hand. ‘We liked him a lot last year and he seems to have progressed. He is a lovely strong colt and I hope he will win plenty of races this year.’

Hollie Doyle stole the second last race with a fine riding performance aboard her companion TOMILY. The son of Canford Cliffs was running off the back of a last start victory at Lingfield and Hollie took advantage of his strong turn of foot when the cut away arrived and put the race to bed. ‘We all love this horse and Hollie gets on so well with him. He has been a superstar for his owner Des Anderson and there are still plenty of races left in him.’

The final winner came under Gary Mahon taking the lucky last with REPTON. He was settled at the rear of the field and came with a strong run inside the final two furlongs to take it up close home and won comfortably in the end. ‘He looks like he is finally coming to himself. He has always had ability but it has been trying to harness it. He won well today and will no doubt continue to progress through the handicap ranks.’

With others runners on the day finishing in the first three, it was an enjoyable day. TIGRE DU TERRE was unlucky to run into one who looks like a proper horse for the future. CONTRAST ran a very good third in the Rosebery Handicap and looks like he is still relatively unexposed.

Today's action comes from Wolverhampton with BOYCIE and QUEEN OF ROME heading to post.
