Haatem

YORK

FRIDAY

3:00 G2 Gimcrack Stakes

Haatem (Sean Levey)

I was delighted to see him get his head in front in the Vintage last time, which was well deserved after some excellent efforts in defeat. Goodwood was on softish ground over seven furlongs, but he ran a great race over a stiff six in the Coventry so I’ve got no concerns dropping back in trip and Sean will sit pretty handy anyway. His work has been top notch, and we’ve got a decent record in this race having won it twice in the last four years with Threat and Lusail.

4:45

Dimsons (Sean Levey)

He is a very handsome colt by Footstepsinthesand, from a family we know well, and everything he’s shown in his work has been good, including when we took him away about ten days ago. This is a valuable Maiden so it’s understandably competitive, and our lad will definitely come on for the experience, but we like him and he won’t disgrace himself.

ELSEWHERE

We’ve got a handful of runners down at Newmarket where I’m hoping that Stratocracy will step up on his recent debut at Sandown in the 3:15. He’s a colt we think a lot of and he could put his first run behind him.

Heartfullofstars is also having her second start and steps up to a mile in the 5:30 at Goodwood. She shaped with promise when second at Newmarket and should improve again.
