Bosh

YORK – WEDNESDAY

A reasonably quiet day for us up on the Knavesmire for the first day of the Welcome to Yorkshire Ebor Festival but I am hoping it’s a case of quality over quantity because we have some very good chances with Ehraz and Bosh who are two very smart colts. All our horses are running well and it was great to see Mojo Star get his head in front at Newbury on Saturday. That was just what we wanted and it will have done his confidence a lot of good so he’ll now head to Doncaster for a crack at the St Leger.

I thought Chindit ran a great race in the Prix Jacques Le Marois on Sunday when just getting chinned for fourth place but was only beaten three lengths and picked up over £25k in prize money so it was a worthwhile trip and we’ll have a good look with regards to his next run. He is entered at York on Saturday although I suspect that may come a little bit quick, but we’ll see how he is this week and if he’s fit and well we might re consider but it’s not set in stone by any means.

2:25 G3 Tattersalls Acomb Stakes
Ehraz (Jim Crowley)

Obviously there is very little between him and Noble Truth on their Newmarket race but the winner had the advantage of having a run under his belt whereas our man was making his debut yet still ran an excellent race to come from way too far back to finish second, and then scored as he liked at Ascot on his next start and I do think there is still plenty more to come from him.

The step up to seven furlongs and long straight at York will really suit and he’s always shown a high level of ability at home so we’re very hopeful he can go all the way to the top.

Unibet's 15 To Go Free Bet Offer will run on this race.

5:20 Nursery
Bosh (Pat Dobbs)

I was absolutely delighted with his run over in Ireland last time where he probably didn’t get the best of passages but ran a great race to finish second, only beaten half the length, which I think shows what a high class horse he is and there could still be more to come. He’s won over course and distance and there are no excuses with the ground so it’s difficult to see a chink in his armour and while this is undoubtedly a very competitive Nursery, his form stacks up well, he’s got a great attitude and goes there with a very obvious chance.

Dark Tulip (Sam Hitchcott)
She’s a lovely Denford Stud homebred who got the job done nicely at Nottingham last time which would’ve done her confidence a lot of good and she’s been in great shape at home since then. This is undoubtedly much tougher, and she does need to continue improving, but she tries hard and I wouldn’t be surprised to see her run well a big odds.
